I’m building businesses while studying where business is going next.
I’m
Makai Morais, a student founder at
Towson University and co-founder and COO of
Ikonic Marketing.
I’m building and growing a company in the real world while studying business,
marketing, AI, and the forces changing how the next generation of companies will compete.
Being a student isn’t separate from being a founder. It gives me an environment to question assumptions, explore new ideas, and bring what I’m learning directly into the businesses I’m building.
Building is getting easier.
Distribution is getting harder.
That’s the problem I want to solve.
Makai Morais is a student founder, marketer, and AI-native business builder exploring a question that is becoming increasingly important for entrepreneurs: when almost anyone can build something, how do you get people to care?
A junior at
Towson University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing,
Makai is also co-founder and COO of
Ikonic Marketing, a digital marketing agency helping independent
automotive dealerships attract customers and sell more cars. His work spans sales, Google Ads,
SEO, AI search optimization, business development, and day-to-day operations.
Makai’s interest in business started well before college. At 16, he landed his first
marketing internship at
Grafik and began developing the skills that would eventually lead
him into entrepreneurship. Today, he is building and growing companies while earning his
degree, giving him a unique vantage point. He is operating in the real world while immersed
in an educational environment that allows him to study, question, and explore where business
is going next.
His larger ambition is Kova, a developing system for building and scaling AI-native businesses. His experience building Ikonic has given him a front-row view into the realities of growing a company, from winning customers and generating revenue to navigating sales, operations, marketing, and growth.
At the center of Makai’s thinking is distribution. As AI lowers the barrier to creating products, services, content, and companies, he believes the competitive advantage will increasingly shift from simply being able to build to knowing how to get what you build seen, trusted, adopted, and purchased.
Makai considers himself a Student of Distribution, deeply interested in understanding how businesses earn attention, reach the right audiences, acquire customers, and turn great ideas into sustainable growth.
He speaks and creates content about AI-native entrepreneurship, distribution, marketing, and the future of business, sharing insights from the distinctive position of someone studying where business is going while actively building in it.
Makai isn’t waiting until graduation to enter the future of business. He’s already helping build it.
If you’re building something, I want to hear about it.
